Why does the pump primes automatically and is it called self-priming? We can give the reply to this question through graphic description of air and water route inside the pump. The air, represented by the moving impeller. By this movement the vacuum is created in the suction pipe and when the water, represented by the blue colour, pushed by the atmospherical pressure fills the suction pipe, entering then the separation chamber. The air-water mixture separates in the separation chamber and the air. being lighter than the water, goes up and gets out through the delivery port.
